As a result of the significant disruption that is being caused by the COVID-19 pandemic we are very aware that many researchers will have difficulty in meeting the timelines associated with our peer review process during normal times.  Please do let us know if you need additional time. Our systems will continue to remind you of the original timelines but we intend to be highly flexible at this time.

Article of the month: Safety and effectiveness of high-dose vitamin C in patients with COVID-19

Vitamin C is an essential water-soluble nutrient that functions as a key antioxidant and has been proven to be effective for boosting immunity. In this study, researchers aimed to assess to assess the efficacy of adding high-dose intravenous vitamin C (HDIVC) to the regimens for patients with severe COVID-19 disease.

An open-label, randomized, controlled trial on patients with severe COVID-19 infection. Findings demonstrated improvements in peripheral oxygen saturation and body temperature, however no significant better outcomes were reported in the group who were treated with high-dose vitamin C in addition to the main treatment regimen at discharge.
